5th Kata [Action for house 55, backdated to the 29th,]

[Even with nothing going on, it's been a rough few days for the residents of house 55. It's like some cruel twist in a game. They were finally getting their acts together, and work as a team once again, back to being brothers. Then they woke up to Raphael gone. Mikey was the first to notice, waking up to a bare room. His freaking out had woken up the rest of them. With no signs of a struggle, and with his things gone this didn't feel like just another kidnapping. But rather something more permanent. The signs pointed to the fact that their brother's been sent home. It's been tough to deal with. Maybe this is why the affects that have affected other parts of the village so far haven't touched house 55. But it's not lasting.

The first thing Leo became aware of was a cooler feeling to the air. It's different, not like the cooling of the houses A/C. The feeling's familiar, but one he's not felt for years. The bed also feels less comfortable than before. He jerks his eyes open and sits up. The sight makes him freeze though. Instead of being greeted by the interior of his and Don's room, he's greeted by brick walls, floor and ceiling, the familiar smells and sounds of the old burrow lair that they'd grown up in as kids. Instead of separate rooms, it's one large room, with the beds to one side, the small living room, and dojo space.]

What the--. Guys, wake up. [He looks around, spotting where Mikey and Don are.]


[Sometime later in the day, after they get over the shock. Leo will sit down to send out a message that he's been putting off, as it's not pleasant news to spread. As leader it's up to him to spread it though. He's just hoping he doesn't catch anybody at the wrong time with it.]

For those who knew him, Raphael has been sent home.

[He's keeping his voice steady, but even he's feeling it. Him and Raph had grown a bit closer during his time here. A part of his is relieved, though, that at least one of his brothers is no longer a prisoner here.]

[Don rolls over on his thin mattress, and mumbles something that might be "It's too early, Leo."]

[Mike's been lying awake for the past hour or so, staring at the ceiling. He's been sleeping (pretending to sleep might be a better way to put it) on the couch for the past few days, ever since Raph's disappearance. He really can't bear to be in that room by himself. Not right now. It's only Leo's voice that makes him finally register that he's looking at brick instead of plaster.]

[Leo can't blame Mikey, he wouldn't be able do it either if Don ever disappeared. To just have that familiar comfort of a brother ripped away in your sleep. It's not something that's easy to take. Leo hasn't slept either. Frequently checking on Splinter, Don and Mikey during the night. Making sure they didn't disappear either. He'd closed his eyes for a bit before the change happened, but he's quick to be up.

He stands up from the thin mattress, moving to shake Donny on the shoulder.]

Whatever has been affecting the village. It looks like it's reached us. [He answers Mikey, telling Don at the same time. A part of him had hoped they would stay unaffected by the chaos, but evidently it wasn't meant to be.]

[Don curls away from Leo's touch, but after a moment he gives it up and opens his eyes.]

[Give him a second while his brain reboots.]

[It's in one of the rare, calmer pauses in the general chaos of the experiment that Robert sees the message from Leo.

It hits him harder than he expected, though most of it is for Don's sake. One of his brothers - one of the people he loves - snatched away from him... it has to hurt. And it has to hurt for his other brothers and father, too. The whole thing just... sounds painful and he doesn't really know what to say to Leo at first.]

I... I know I cannot be much assistance, especially now, but... if your family needs anything, Leonardo, I will try my best to... assist.

[Though he'll certainly give them a wide berth if they'd rather have that instead. He just... wants to be supportive, if he can.]

[It hurts, it really does. To know that Raph might never come back, and if he does he might not even remember being here before. But it's some comfort to know that he's no longer subjected to the Malnosso's cruel experiments.]

It is the least I can do for... f-for your family, especially after all you have done for me.

[He tries to keep his voice steady, more for Leo's sake than his, though Leo is probably better at weathering this sort of thing to begin with. No need to add to his burdens, though.]

We were unaffected until this morning sometime. [He wonders what's coming next. First the house turns into their old lair, now what?]

He is. His...things are all gone from his room. [A room none of them have likely touched since that morning. A little bit of denial. Out of sight out of mind. But they'll have to face it sooner or later.] He was also my brother.

Master Splinter is fine. He's...coping with this. [Like the rest of them]

I'm sorry. While knowing that Splinter is fine, and that he's not alone is a cold comfort, but comfort non the less. ...Will Raphael be better off at home at least?

He should be. He's also away from the Malnosso's experiments.

[Raphael. She had known him for some time now, and through some difficult times at that. And had seen the effects of loss on his family, but hopefully they had been through enough to be strong for one another now. She hoped.]

[Raph, and Don, have been through siblings disappearing and coming back before. This was the first time for Leo and Mikey. Outside of kidnappings. Kidnappings you at least knew they'd eventually return. The same with deaths. This had far too many unknowns, and most of them were ones he's not looking forward to if they come.]
