[Shredder and Karai are both gone.. He's glad for it. At least he no longer has to wonder when the Saki was going to make his move. Or try to figure out what he was up to. But on the other side of it. He's disappointed that Karai is gone. Near the end it looked like she was starting to see why he kept trying to get her to switch sides. Seemed to be seriously considering it. But now...now it all meant nothing. It's another missed opportunity. But he hopes there might be more. Even if the chances of her showing up again were slim. But at least he also didn't have to deal with the Malnosso deciding to dig up old feelings anymore.

He'll be out at the memorial garden briefly. Adding something to remember Karai, at least. Sometime after that he'll send a filtered message, when he sits down to send it..]

[Once that's done, he'll close the journal. He'll be out in the woods. He's been trying to contact Hyt, the light spirit, before it gets too cold out. Even knowing he's the hardest to contact out of all of them.

Eventually he'll head home though, turning the route into a training run.]

Fuuko will keep an eye out for a second turtle then. Maybe he has seen some giant starfish. Normal starfish would also suffice!

Have you been to the beach? I don't know if there's starfish there. But there could be.

Fuuko has be told about the beach a lot! Someday Fuuko will go and look for starfish.

[Though it's probably a little too cold to do it now. Perhaps she could go rock-pooling or something.]

Many people here don't seem to be aware of what starfish are, or have never seen a starfish for themselves. It's all very horrible.

I had never been to the ocean before coming here. Maybe it's the same for the others?

[Fuuko hasn't been near the ocean much, but she has visited a few times. Most people seem to go with family at some point, or have at least been near an ocean anyway.]

Perhaps so?! They might just live in places where the ocean is too far away to reach.

Yeah, uh. we couldn't travel as easily as we can here. [He's been on the ocean, in a cargo boat, but never to the beach, or to swim. At least before he got here.] I was eighteen when I arrived. I've been here about nine months.

And why was that? ...Are you some sort of undercover giant turtle who isn't meant to be seen?! If anyone asks if Fuuko saw you then Fuuko will say no, don't worry. [Pondering something now.] Though if you didn't want to be seen you could pull into your shell, right? And that means it'll be your anniversary in three more months time! [An anniversary of sorts anyway.]

Just don't like you? What sort of horrible reason is that?! You should ask why they don't like you. Fuuko found you a little frightening at first, but this is understandable as this is the first giant turtle Fuuko has ever spoken to!

If they got to know you then they would like you. Bring everyone flowers and tell them 'lets be friends'! Then they'll have to like you!! [Or, alternatively, bring them starfish. That would fix everything!]

Well...some of them do. We do have some human friends. But the rest either hate us or fear us.

[The 'They get to know us, they'll like us' is certainly a possibility. He knows it, since it worked with April and Casey, along with others they know.]

Good! Fuuko was worried for a moment that deciding to start a conversation with you would have ended up spelling Fuuko's end.

With new found understanding, Fuuko's fears have subsided. Fuuko still thinks giving all the humans who fear you flowers, or starfish, would make sure they would never fear you.

I wish I could believe that. We do have that here, though.

Of course it would be! Everyone would become so enraptured with the beauty of the starfish that they would completely forget about fearing you.
